Receiving Clerk

Job Location: Charlotte, NC 28208, Position Type: Full Time, Education Level: High School, Travel Percentage: None, Job Shift: First Shift, Job Category: Warehouse, The Receiving Clerk inspects incoming deliveries to a warehouse or factory by verifying and signing for shipments, unloading and storing the received items, and processing any returns. In addition, the Receiving Clerk records shipments with raw material or products by checking their contents to ensure they match the orders. The Receiving Clerk must have exceptional attention to detail and basic math skills. They must also have adequate physical strength to unload shipments as well as the clerical skills to update records and follow up with suppliers. Responsibilities Collaborate with procurement staff to list expected deliveries Receive shipments and sign paperwork upon receipt Unload packages from incoming trucks Inspect contents to ensure they are undamaged Verify packages according to order and invoices (quantity, quality, price etc.) Contact Purchasing team if a mistake is identified Assume responsibility for returning unsatisfactory shipments or receiving replacements Label deliveries and allocate them to their designated place within warehouse Maintain accurate records and assist in inventory control Comparing purchase orders with invoices and packaging lists. Requirements and Skills Proven experience as receiving clerk or similar position Experience in operating forklifts (both standup and seated) Demonstrated knowledge of computer programs for entering data Basic math and recording abilities Excellent organizational skills Great communication and interpersonal abilities High school diploma/GED. Good understanding of warehouse safety regulations Physical dexterity and experience operating forklifts. Computer skills and knowledge of data entry and inventory software programs. Experience in using RF scanners Qualifications: Qualifications Requirements Education and / or experience High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Language skills Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees of the organization. Must be able to read incoming BOLs, warehouse specifications, part orders Mathematical skills Demonstrated ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide Ability to perform these operations using US dollar and weight measurements, volume and distance. Must be able to pass internal testing to demonstrate above qualifications Reasoning ability Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations Certificates, licenses, registrations Forklift Certification. (Must be able to pass operating and written test. Other skills and abilities Employee will use common hand-tools.
