Speech Therapist - Speech Therapy - Part Time 8 Hour Days (Non-Exempt) (Non-Union)

Develop and implement speech pathology services and direct patient care in coordination with the rehabilitation team, while complying with organizational goals and regulatory agencies. Responsibilities Direct patient care for adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients with varied diagnoses. Conduct patient evaluation, resolve problems, and document care. Attend patient‑care related meetings, clinical conferences, and patient rounds. Delegate duties to support personnel, supervise new staff, students, and clinical fellows, and oversee competency validation. Serve as a clinical resource and lead patient‑care conferences to improve communication and efficiency. Manage a full patient caseload, meeting documentation, communication, and productivity requirements. Maintain membership in the American Speech and Hearing Association, attend at least one professional meeting per year, and contribute to clinical research or professional advocacy. Perform additional duties as assigned. Qualifications Master’s degree in Communication Disorders that satisfies American Speech and Hearing Association (ASHA) academic and practicum requirements for Certification of Clinical Competence (CCC‑SLP). Successful completion of specialized or technical clinical training. Excellent customer‑service behavior. Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Word and internet utilization. Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with physicians, staff, and patients. Preferred Qualifications Minimum of three years’ experience in an acute hospital setting. Required Licenses/Certifications Speech Language Pathologist – SLP (California DCA) with a current California license. Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider certification from the American Heart Association. Fire Life Safety Training (Los Angeles City) – must be obtained within 30 days of hire if not already held. Certification of Clinical Competence in Speech Language Pathology (CCC‑SLP) by ASHA.
