Legal Secretary Job Summary

We are looking for an exceptional Legal Secretary to streamline the day-to-day functions of our personal injury/probate guardianship law firm. You will be responsible for scheduling meetings and appointments, setting deadline reminders, maintaining case files and inputting data into our system, and providing general administrative and reception support in the office. We also expect you to be familiar with drafting and formatting legal documents and other correspondence. Our ideal candidate is trustworthy, responsible, well-organized, and has previous administrative experience, preferably in a law office.

Legal Secretary Duties and Responsibilities

• Preparing presuit tasks for personal injury cases such as obtaining medical records and bills, compiling medical bill summaries and drafting demands
• Preparing complaints, discovery pleadings and electronic filing.
• Preparing probate/guardianship pleadings and orders.
• Backup phone and greeting duties.

Legal Secretary Requirements and Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree or vocational training in legal administration, or related field preferred
• 2+ years of administrative experience in the legal field
• Record of ethical conduct and ensuring client confidentiality
• Excellent research, communication, and organizational skills
• Computer literate in Microsoft Office and legal software
