CNC Machinist – Day Shift

Location: Riverside, MO

Job Type: Full-Time

Shift: Day Shift

Pay: $25.00–$35.00/hour, based on experience

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced CNC Machinist to join a heavy manufacturing environment in Riverside, MO. This position is ideal for a skilled machinist who has experience operating and setting up large horizontal mills and is comfortable working with large, heavy workpieces.

This is a hands-on machining position involving complex setups, CNC programming and editing, blueprint interpretation, precision measurement, and the production of large-scale components used in demanding industrial applications.

This is true heavy machining—not simply fixture work. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up large workpieces, including 3-point setups and parts held in a relaxed state, while following detailed work instructions.

Pay & Schedule

• $25.00–$35.00/hour , based on qualifications and experience
• Full-time, Day Shift position

Key Responsibilities

• Operate large CNC horizontal mills and related machining equipment
• Set up large and heavy workpieces according to work instructions
• Perform 3-point setups and properly position parts in a relaxed state
• Review and interpret engineering drawings and machining specifications
• Perform CNC programming and make program edits as needed
• Make setup and process adjustments to improve machining operations
• Inspect completed work using precision measuring instruments
• Use ID/OD micrometers, calipers, and other measurement tools
• Verify dimensions and ensure parts meet required specifications
• Follow established safety procedures and work instructions
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
• Work independently while maintaining productivity, quality, and safety standards

Required Qualifications

• Previous experience operating large horizontal CNC mills
• Strong experience setting up large workpieces
• Experience with 3-point setups
• Experience setting up parts in a relaxed state rather than relying solely on fixtures
• Familiarity with Fanuc controls , including older 18M and newer 30iB controls
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints
• Proficiency using ID/OD micrometers and calipers
• Strong understanding of CNC machining and workpiece setup fundamentals
• Ability to troubleshoot machining and setup issues
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work

Work Environment

This is a heavy manufacturing shop-floor environment . Employees will work around large machinery, heavy components, cutting tools, and industrial equipment throughout the shift.

Standard personal protective equipment (PPE) is required. The facility may experience temperature variations throughout the year, including hot conditions during the summer and cold conditions during the winter.

Candidates should be comfortable working around heavy equipment and performing the physical demands associated with large-scale machining operations.
