Lead Software Engineer, Engineering Platforms

Salary: $61,000 - 101,000 per year Requirements:

• Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts, with at least 5 years of applied experience
• Hands-on experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
• Advanced proficiency in one or more programming languages, including Java and React
• Front-end expertise developing user interface applications
• Experience with RESTful API design, data-driven design, microservices, event-driven architecture, and enterprise integration patterns
• Experience with messaging platforms and stream data processing, particularly Kafka
• Demonstrated ability to lead the effective use of approved AI-assisted development tools, including setting standards to validate outputs for correctness, performance, and security
• Understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity, secure input and output handling, and security and resiliency expectations; experience coaching engineers on safe, compliant adoption
• Proficiency across the software development lifecycle
• Practical cloud-native experience with AWS
• Knowledge of containerization and container runtime or orchestration platforms such as Docker, Kubernetes, or ECS

• Design, develop, and troubleshoot creative software solutions, taking considered approaches to building solutions and resolving complex technical problems
• Develop secure, high-quality production code and review and debug code written by others
• Lead adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality, delivery speed, and operational outcomes; establish validation standards and encourage reuse of effective approaches
• Use software development lifecycle tools, including approved AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to increase the value of automation
• Identify recurring issues and opportunities to automate remediation, strengthening the operational stability of applications and systems
• Lead evaluations with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to assess architectural designs, technical capabilities, and suitability for existing systems and information architecture
• Contribute as a technical lead across the software development lifecycle, working with stakeholders and less experienced colleagues toward shared goals
