Lead Software/Platform Engineer

Salary: $61,000 - 101,000 per year Requirements:

• We have formal training or certification in software engineering concepts, along with 5+ years of applied experience.
• We have hands-on experience with AI-assisted development tools such as VS Code, GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, or similar, plus working knowledge of LLM integration or agentic tooling in a production setting.
• We bring at least 7 years of deep production experience with C#, .NET, and PowerShell.
• We have demonstrated experience leading approved AI-assisted software development tools for coding, code review, test acceleration, and troubleshooting, including setting expectations for validating AI outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
• We understand responsible AI usage in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity, secure handling of inputs and outputs, and resiliency and security expectations, and we have coached engineers on safe, compliant adoption.
• We have experience with Windows platform engineering and automation workflows at scale.
• We have a strong understanding of REST API design, relational database development, and systems integration patterns.
• We are proficient across the full Software Development Life Cycle.
• We have advanced knowledge of agile practices such as CI/CD, application resiliency, and security.
• We have in-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and its IT systems.
• We can operate autonomously, take technical ownership, and contribute at a high level within a small senior team.
• Preferred: we have experience with front-end frameworks such as React or equivalent, since the stack includes a UI layer.
• Preferred: we have experience with event-driven architecture or messaging platforms.
• Preferred: we are familiar with MCP (Model Context Protocol) or tools-first API design patterns.
• Preferred: we have experience in financial services or a comparable enterprise environment.
• Preferred: we have a background in platform modernization or legacy system re-architecture.

• We design, develop, and troubleshoot creative software solutions, approaching technical problems beyond routine or conventional methods.
• We build secure, high-quality production code and review and debug code written by others.
• We drive adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality, delivery speed, and operational outcomes while maintaining validation standards and encouraging reuse of effective patterns.
• We apply Software Development Life Cycle tools, including approved AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to increase the value delivered through automation.
• We identify opportunities to remove recurring issues or automate remediation to improve the stability of our software applications and systems.
• We lead evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to assess architectural designs, technical credibility, and fit within our existing systems and information architecture.
