Location: Elkridge, MD (Onsite)
$24-26 per hour + benefits
Employment Type: Hourly, non-exempt
Position Overview
The Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for performing routine and full-cycle accounts payable activities using a working knowledge of accounting principles and company practices. This role works under the supervision of the Staff Accountant to ensure accurate, complete, and compliant financial records. This is a full-time position.
Primary Responsibilities
- Process full-cycle accounts payable
- Review and verify invoices for accuracy, approvals, and documentation
- Prepare and execute weekly vendor payments
- Post transactions and resolve invoice, purchase order, and payment discrepancies
- Manage company credit card program, including expense coding and payments
- Maintain vendor relationships
- Maintain organized electronic records per record retention policies
- Calculate, report, and remit sales tax on paid invoices
- Process approximately 300 to 400 invoices per month
- Prepare and process annual 1099 forms
- Perform monthly expense analysis
Additional Responsibilities
- Assist with accounting procedures, documentation, and forms
- Generate miscellaneous invoices and credit memos
- Collaborate with internal teams as needed
Skills and Qualifications
- 1+ years of accounts payable experience
- Basic understanding of accounting principles
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Proficient data entry skills
- Experience with ERP systems required
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word

- Experience in manufacturing, distribution, or services environments
