Program Coordinator, Student Support & Operations About the Opportunity The mission of the We Care Program is to support NortheasternUniversity students who experience difficulty maintaining academicprogress due to personal challenges or external obstacles. Byresponding to student requests for assistance and proactivelyreaching out to students of concern, We Care is a resource forstudents, their families, and Northeastern University faculty andstaff. We Care provides policy information; customized referralsand guidance that helps students navigate and overcome difficultcircumstances. Reporting to the Associate Director for Student Success, theProgram Coordinator, Student Support & Operations assists withthe efficient and effective operation of the We Care Program. Thisrole will support students to make independent decisions related totheir needs while following university policies and procedures.This role must enjoy working with students and helping guide themthrough their challenges. The position requires organization,creativity, initiative, innovation, and problem-solving skills. Ademonstrated ability to handle multiple responsibilitiesconcurrently, work both collaboratively and independently in a fast-paced environment, and previous experience working withcollege-level students is required. Candidate will be required to work some evening, weekend andholiday hours as needed. This is a full-time, in-person position on the Boston campus.Northeastern offers an excellent tuition remission benefit, forthose seeking additional education. Qualifications Bachelor's degree required; 2-4 years of higher educationexperience strongly preferred. Equivalent experience will beconsidered. Experience creating, managing, and maintaining web-basedprograms and platforms required. Demonstrated ability to handle confidential and sensitiveinformation with diplomacy and exercise independent judgment incomplex or ambiguous situations. Crisis intervention skills, creative problem solving, andsituational adaptability required. Ability to identify patterns in student concerns andproactively recommend improvements and creative solutions. Excellent written and oral communication skills; ability tocommunicate with confidence across all levels of theorganization. Strong interpersonal, organizational, and computer skills;proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).Familiarity with Canva and AI tools preferred. Must be able to empathize with individuals from diversebackgrounds and work collaboratively with students, faculty,parents, and university-wide administrators. Familiarity with a university's role in an urban setting and anunderstanding of shared community responsibilities. Must be able to balance conflicting priorities and remain calmunder pressure.
