As an Associate Accounting Analyst, you'll help design and deliver impactful training programs that empower FI$Cal system users. You'll lead instructor-led sessions, create engaging learning materials, and collaborate with business teams, control agencies, and IT partners to ensure users master system functionality and business processes. You'll also document processes, maintain training standards, and continuously improve delivery methods to keep pace with system enhancements and organizational goals. Please note that to be list appointed for placement in the Associate Accounting Analyst classification, you must take and pass the examination. This recruitment may be used to fill more than one position within the section.Effective July 1, 2025, the State of California implemented the Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025) which reduces an employee's monthly salary in exchange for leave credits. Employees appointed to this classification will have their monthly salary reduced and will accrue hours of PLP 2025 on the first day of each pay period in accordance with the applicable bargaining contract. The salary range(s) included on this job posting do not reflect the reduction in pay.

At FI$Cal, we are compliant with the Governors executive order, N22-025, requiring staff to be in office 4 or more days per week. In-office attendance is mandatory on designated days and is subject to change. Our office is located at 2000 Evergreen Street, Sacramento, CA. Candidates residing outside of California are welcome to interview, but proof of California residency is required before appointment. Please note, relocation and commute expenses are the responsibility of the employee.
This position requires prolonged sitting in an office-setting environment with the use of a personal computer. Employees must demonstrate a commitment to maintain a working environment free from discrimination and sexual harassment. Department Information
Our department develops, maintains and o perates FI$Cal, the statewide financial system. The FI$Cal system modernized how the state of California manages its finances and is one of the largest and most dynamic IT and business-transformation undertakings in California's history. It eliminates the need for hundreds of independent legacy systems by combining the state's accounting, budgeting, cash management, and procurement operations into a single financial-management system.

Our department has four Divisions: Administrative Services, Business Operation & Solutions, Information Technology and Executive.
This position is located in the Business Operation & Solutions Division (BOSD):
Business Operation & Solutions Division (BOSD), whose central mission is to ensure the effective delivery and positive reception of the FI$Cal solution. BOSD continues to provide effective support services, both onsite and remotely, to departmental stakeholders as it has in the past. BOSD also works closely with Partner Agencies to support month-end and year-end close.

- State or governmental accounting experience.
- Experience delivering training content or presenting information to a large group.
- Experience developing, reviewing, revising, maintaining, and updating various types of documentation/learning materials (e.g.,job/desk aids, manuals, presentations, learning content, etc.).
- Customer service experience.
