Title: Special Education Teacher
Employment Type: Full-time | Contract | 2026–2027 School Year
Work Hours: 37.5 hours per week (Monday–Friday, onsite)

Job Description:
An excellent opportunity is available for Special Education Teachers supporting students in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Multiple full-time positions are available for the upcoming school year, with the majority of openings in PreK through elementary self-contained or collaborative classrooms. Additional opportunities are available for grades 4–8 and 7th grade collaborative settings. Teachers will support students with a full range of disabilities and collaborate with school teams to provide individualized instruction and promote student success.

Qualifications:

• Active Alabama Special Education Teacher certification with the appropriate age-group endorsement, such as PreK–5 or K–12
• Experience working in self-contained and/or collaborative special education classrooms preferred
• Experience supporting students with a variety of disabilities
• Strong classroom management and instructional skills
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Responsibilities:

• Provide specialized instruction in self-contained or collaborative classroom settings
• Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) aligned with student goals
• Adapt curriculum and instructional strategies to meet individual student needs
• Monitor student progress and adjust instruction as needed
• Collaborate with general education teachers, families, and related service providers
• Maintain accurate and compliant special education documentation
• Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team meetings as needed
