Industrial Electrician (A & B) – Dover, NJ

An established manufacturing company is seeking experienced Industrial Electricians to join its casting operations in Dover, New Jersey.

Available Shifts:

• Electrician A – Midnight Shift: Sunday night–Thursday night, 10:30 PM–7:00 AM
• Electrician B – Afternoon Shift: Monday–Friday, 2:30 PM–11:00 PM
• Paid training on 1st Shift: Monday–Friday, 6:30 AM–3:00 PM

Compensation:

• Starting Rate: $38.04/hour
• Rate After 12 Months: $40.73/hour
• Shift premium for off-shift assignments
• $5,000 sign-on bonus (external candidates only, payable after 90 days)

Position Overview:
The Industrial Electrician provides electrical maintenance and troubleshooting support for manufacturing operations while performing preventive maintenance to ensure equipment reliability and minimize downtime.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install, maintain, and repair industrial electrical equipment including motors, transformers, wiring, switches, heaters, and alarm systems.
• Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair electrical circuits and wiring in accordance with electrical codes and safety regulations.
• Perform preventive maintenance on plant electrical systems and equipment.
• Troubleshoot electrical issues and identify root causes of equipment failures.
• Work with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), variable frequency drives (VFDs), and HMI systems.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, ladder logic, and blueprints.
• Troubleshoot PLC inputs/outputs, analog signals, and VFD alarms.
• Assist with new equipment installations and electrical upgrades.
• Support and train less experienced electricians as needed.
• Perform minor mechanical maintenance duties when required.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Follow all company safety policies and wear required PPE.

Required Skills:

• Ability to read electrical blueprints and ladder logic.
• Experience troubleshooting PLC-controlled equipment.
• Experience setting up and troubleshooting VFDs.
• Familiarity with HMI systems.
• Experience working in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
• Ability to troubleshoot high-voltage equipment up to 600V.
• Knowledge of electrical codes and safe work practices.

Physical Requirements:

• Lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
• Lift up to 70 lbs. occasionally; heavier loads require assistance.
• Push/pull up to 200 lbs. using appropriate equipment.
• Ability to wear a tight-fitting respirator (clean-shaven where the respirator seals to the face).

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum of 4 years of industrial or manufacturing electrician experience.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
• Must reside within approximately 50 miles of Dover, NJ.
• No relocation assistance available.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with electrical layout and wiring for new equipment installations.
• Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC).
• Strong commitment to workplace safety and preventive maintenance.
