Then consider joining our amazing team!Preferred Locations: Atlanta, GA; Houston, TX; Chicago, IL; or Summit, NJWork Arrangement: Hybrid schedule required — 3 days per week in the office.JOB OVERVIEWThe Benefit Consultant is responsible for client satisfaction, service delivery, and vendor management while supporting the development of innovative, data-driven strategies to optimize complex Health & Welfare benefit programs.WHAT YOU'LL DOStrategy & Program ManagementSupport development and execution of benefit strategies for large, self-funded clientsDevelop cost-containment strategies across medical, pharmacy, and disability programsAnalyze claims/utilization trends and identify improvement opportunitiesLead vendor evaluations, RFPs, procurement, implementation, and performance trackingCommunicate industry trends, benchmarks, and regulatory updatesClient ManagementServe as primary day-to-day client contact and manage vendor relationshipsOversee project management for deliverables, compliance deadlines, and annual planningManage RFP processes, renewals, contract negotiations, and vendor implementationsEnsure timely, accurate execution of deliverables with actuarial and internal teamsSupport compliance (e.g., 5500 filings, plan documents, regulatory adherence)Resolve escalated claims and support employee communications and enrollment activitiesClient Relationship & ReportingPartner with clients to define benefit goals and strategiesDeliver financial reporting, analysis, and benchmarking insightsReview and finalize client reporting deliverablesBusiness Development & Team CollaborationAssist with new business opportunities and strategy developmentContribute to internal process improvements and team initiativesWHAT YOU'LL BRING5–10 years of experience in insurance, employee benefits, or HRStrong knowledge of Health & Welfare programs (self-funded medical, Rx, dental, vision, disability, life, absence, etc.)Experience managing large, self-funded clients in consulting or brokerageFull-cycle RFP experienceBachelor's degree or equivalent experienceExperience designing and implementing benefit plansUnderwriting experience preferredInsurance license (or ability to obtain)Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skillsProject management and ability to manage multiple prioritiesExperience with data analysis and self-funded plan financialsKnowledge of regulations and compliance requirementsProficiency in Microsoft Office and large data setsAbility to work independently, collaboratively, and in a fast-paced environmentHigh level of professionalism, accountability, and client service focusAdditional RequirementsAbility to maintain confidentiality and interact with executive stakeholdersWillingness to travel and work outside standard hours as neededCOMPENSATION:The base salary range for this position is $110,000 -$135,000 This range represents the employer's good-faith estimate of the compensation for this role at the time of posting.WHY EPIC:Generous Paid Time off Managed PTO for salaried/exempt employees (personal time off without accruals or caps); 22 PTO days starting out for hourly/non-exempt employees; 12 company-observed paid holidays; 4 early-close daysGenerous leave time options: Paid parental leave, pregnancy disability and bonding leave, and organ donor/bone marrow donor leaveGenerous employee referral bonus program of $1,500 per hired referralEmployee recognition programs for demonstrating EPIC's values plus additional employee recognition awards and programs (and trips!)Employee Resource Groups: Women's Coalition, EPIC Veterans GroupProfessional growth & development: Mentorship Program, Tuition Reimbursement Program, Leadership DevelopmentUnique benefits such as Pet Insurance, Identity Theft & Fraud Protection Coverage, Legal Planning, Family Planning, and Menopause & Midlife SupportAdditional benefits include (but are limited to): 401(k) matching, medical insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance, and wellness & employee assistance programs50/50 Work Culture: EPIC fosters a 50/50 culture between producers and the rest of the business, supporting collaboration, teamwork, and an inclusive work environment.
