Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join a growing industrial company in New Orleans. This role supports accurate financial reporting, strengthens day-to-day accounting operations, and helps deliver meaningful insights to leadership. The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting knowledge, sound judgment, and a proactive approach to improving financial processes across the organization.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee monthly and annual close activities by maintaining the general ledger, preparing supporting schedules, and recording necessary journal entries.

• Contribute to the preparation of recurring financial reports and management statements used by leadership to evaluate business performance.

• Review accounting data, operating results, and financial trends to identify variances and provide actionable analysis.

• Prepare and submit tax-related filings and payments while helping ensure adherence to applicable regulatory and compliance requirements.

• Develop and maintain work-in-progress reporting to support accurate project and operational financial tracking.

• Administer fixed asset and leased asset records, including depreciation calculations and related accounting documentation.

• Collaborate with accounting and operations stakeholders to strengthen procedures, improve workflow efficiency, and support process enhancements.

• Build and maintain performance dashboards and reporting tools in Power BI to provide useful metrics for finance and operations teams.

• Partner with cross-functional teams on billing, collections, reconciliations, and other core accounting activities to support smooth financial operations.

• Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in Accounting Finance, CPA candidate highly preferred.

• 3–5 years of relevant accounting experience in an industry-based environment.

• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office, including advanced Excel skills.

• Hands-on experience with month-end close, general ledger activity, and journal entry preparation.

• Practical knowledge of account reconciliations and bank reconciliations.

• Experience with ERP and strong Excel skills required.

• Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and a resourceful, improvement-minded approach to problem-solving.
