Industrial Maintenance Mechanic

The Opportunity

Precious Plate is hiring an Industrial Maintenance Mechanic to join our team. As an Industrial Maintenance Mechanic, you will maintain equipment (machine repairs, electrical, plumbing, etc.) to support manufacturing. This is a full-time position, working from 7pm – 7am or 6pm – 6am (Nights) on a rotating 2-2-3 schedule, reporting to the Facilities Manager and Maintenance Supervisor. Our starting rate of pay is $30.00 per hour.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Maintain equipment to support manufacturing
• Perform carpentry repairs and maintenance.
• Perform plumbing repairs and maintenance.
• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electrical systems and equipment.
• Perform welding and metal fabrication repairs as needed.
• Inspect, repair, and maintain pneumatic systems and components.
• Service, troubleshoot, and repair HVAC systems and equipment.
• Recommend annual work projects
• Ensure all calibration and preventative maintenance tasks are performed
• Identify emergency situations and take corrective action
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Two years of technical experience and mechanical troubleshooting
• Ability to read, write, and comprehend verbal/written instructions
• Demonstrate proficiency in the use of basic hand tools, power tools, and measuring devices, including the ability to accurately read and use a tape measure.
• Ability to work independently and cooperatively with others
• Basic math skills
• Ability to work from ladders and other elevated work platforms to perform maintenance and repair duties.
• Manual dexterity is needed to perform some job functions
• Ability to hear, see, occasionally bend, stoop and kneel, stand up to 12 hours per day, and push, pull or lift up to 50lbs as needed.

Working Conditions

• Occasionally works around chemical solutions
• Environment may be high temperatures depending on ambient outside temperature
• Safety glasses, steel or composite toe boots, and hearing protection required
• Other PPE may be required depending on responsibilities
• Could be exposed to background noise, odors, or dust
