Step into a rewarding opportunity supporting K-12 students as a Special Education Teacher in a self-contained classroom environment. This full-time contract position begins as soon as possible and runs through May 26, 2027. Located near Richardson, TX, you'll play a key role in the educational journey of students with special needs, specifically those with autism, and help shape their academic and personal success.
Ideal candidates possess experience in implementing individualized instruction, IEP management, and ongoing progress monitoring. A strong background in supporting students with autism is highly valued.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Texas Special Education EC-12 certification required
- General Education content certification such as EC-6 Generalist, or similar
- Experience working with K-12th grade students in a special education setting
- Previous experience in self-contained classrooms preferred
- Proficiency in IEP implementation and tracking student progress
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
Core Responsibilities:
- Deliver targeted instruction to students in self-contained special education settings
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs to ensure compliance and high-quality support
- Adapt curriculum and teaching strategies for learners with diverse needs, including those with autism
- Maintain accurate and detailed progress documentation
- Collaborate with general education teachers, service providers, and families to foster student growth
- Participate in meetings, ongoing training, and professional development
