This contract opportunity offers the chance to make a lasting impact in a high school environment, supporting adolescents in grades 9–12 as they navigate both academic responsibilities and personal growth. You’ll be part of an emotional support program designed to empower students with self-regulation techniques, coping skills, and habits for successful transition into adulthood. Your day will be dynamic—guiding students through both mainstream and specialized classroom settings.

Key Qualifications:

• Experience as a Paraprofessional, Behavior Specialist, or in a related school support role
• Comfort working with students exhibiting a range of emotional and behavioral challenges
• Unwavering patience and the ability to remain nonjudgmental and composed, even with students who may be grumpy, withdrawn, or display inappropriate behavior
• Confidence in monitoring students independently as well as supporting larger group settings
• Willingness to collaborate with co-teachers and emotional support staff
• Ability to build rapport and respect with older students, even those slow to open up
• High school subject proficiency and basic technology skills to assist students with computer-based assignments

Responsibilities Include:

• Providing direct support in both general education and emotional support classrooms
• Encouraging positive behavior and academic engagement
• Assisting students in managing their assignments, developing coping strategies, and building skills for independence
• Engaging with students one-on-one or in small groups to foster a supportive, inclusive environment
• Collaborating with teachers to maintain continuity of support across settings
