Team Lead - Plant Assets

Job Summary The Plant Asset Team Leader reports directly to the Plant Manager and leads a team of technical specialists and engineers in a natural gas‑fired power plant. The role oversees plant safety, compliance, budgeting, reliability, maintenance, and outage planning, and participates in long‑term strategic planning and continuous improvement initiatives. Responsibilities Responsible for safety, compliance, budgeting, reliability, and all other aspects of assigned plant area. Provides leadership for the development of direct reports, fostering strong fundamentals for operations and maintenance. Supports human performance improvement initiatives and shared understanding of excellence. Ensures plant operations and maintenance personnel comply with safe work practices and plant procedures. Ranks and prioritizes reliability and financial risks using data analysis and maintenance information. Works with Fleet Maintenance to oversee long‑range and detailed planning of unit outages, managing cost, schedule, and safety. Prepares and plans near‑term and strategic budgets. Provides and supports budget/project development and cost control for work plans. Manages budget deviations from the approved annual budget. Supports operations personnel and collaborates with planning to assign resources for emerging issues. Leads contractor oversight for routine and outage work. Staffs and manages routine, planned, emergency, and reserve outages and projects. Develops schedules and budgets for maintenance and outages. Interfaces with plant management to resolve issues impacting business processes, budgets, and strategies. Champions gap closure actions aligned with company strategy. Leads site teams to identify and implement maintenance strategies and funding needs. Maintains relationships with internal and external interfaces and strategic partners. Stays informed on industry research to drive continuous improvement. Provides oversight of NERC compliance. Minimum Requirements High‑school diploma or equivalent. Desired: Bachelor’s degree in engineering or an equivalent technical field (or 10 years of power‑plant experience with at least 5 years in maintenance). Without technical degree: At least 10 years of power‑plant experience, 5 years maintenance/operations. With technical degree: At least 5 years maintenance/operations experience. Desired: Experience with Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) plants. Desired: Prior supervisory or leadership experience. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Strong accountability for results. Knowledge of plant operating/maintenance practices, equipment strategies, lockout/tag‑out, and safety procedures. Effective communication with contractors and agencies. Excellent oral and written communication. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ability to learn new applications. Leadership and team‑building skills. Active engagement of subordinates to achieve excellence. Analytical and problem‑solving abilities. Other Attributes Functional knowledge of own discipline and basic knowledge of others.
