COUNSEL, LABOR & EMPLOYMENT LITIGATION The Sr. Litigation Counsel position offers a unique opportunity to represent the SpaceX business in a variety of litigation matters, with a focus on labor and employment, both in the United States and internationally.RESPONSIBILITIES: Manage all facets of litigation, with a focus on labor and employment disputes but with opportunities to expand your portfolio to include consumer, contractual, commercial, or other kinds of legal disputesConduct internal investigations; support discovery efforts; draft and review discovery requests/responses, pleadings, and briefs; direct litigation strategy; and negotiate settlementsIdentify legal risks and mitigate them by designing and implementing controlsBASIC QUALIFICATIONS:JD from an ABA accredited law school7+ years of experience as a practicing attorneyExperience litigating labor and employment disputesPREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:Experience leading litigation of labor and employment matters, including in court, arbitration, and administrative proceedings (e.g., EEOC, NLRB)Meaningful first or second chair trial experienceSpecialized knowledge of California labor and employment law (Texas, Florida, Washington State also helpful)Excellent written and verbal communication skillsPrior experience—either in-house or through client relationships—representing high-growth companiesDemonstrated ability to work cross-functionally and build strong relationships with other business groups and/or clientsProven ability to work both collaboratively and independently in a fast-paced and constantly changing environmentADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:Willingness to travel approximately 10% of the timeMust be admitted to the bar, in good standing, in at least one U.S. StateThis position is based in Hawthorne, CA and requires being onsite - remote work not consideredMust be able to work extended hours and weekends as neededCOMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
Pay Range:
Level 3: $235,000.00 - $290,000.00Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package at SpaceX. You may also be eligible for long-term incentives, in the form of company stock or long-term cash awards, as well as potential discretionary bonuses and the ability to purchase additional stock at a discount through an Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
