Senior Accountant

Senior AccountantThe Senior Accountant is responsible for ensuring the integrity of accounting information by recording, verifying, consolidating, and entering transactions. The Senior Accountant will perform the day-to-day accounting function including general ledger entries, financial and management reporting, and account reconciliations. The position will also be responsible for month-end and year-end closing responsibilities and interfacing with outside auditors.Key Responsibilities• Prepare account reconciliations and journal entries in connection with the monthly close.• Ensure that all financial transactions are recorded accurately in the general ledger.• Assist in the preparation of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements in accordance with GAAP.• Oversee the customer billing processes, ensuring accuracy and timely invoicing to support revenue recognition.• Code and process vendor invoices, verify accuracy, and coordinate payments to vendors.• Support and enhance cost accounting, inventory management, and COGS analysis, particularly in a manufacturing environment.• Serve as a key point of contact for external auditors, coordinating audit requests, preparing supporting documentation, and ensuring timely and accurate responses.• Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, and review variance analysis as needed.• Collaborate cross-functionally with departments to support Corporate financial goals.• Identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiencies through budgetary analysis.• Assist in the implementation and integration of a new ERP system to streamline accounting processes and improve data accuracy.• Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation within accounting operations.Education and Experience• B.S. or M.S. in Accounting.• 7+ years of professional accounting experience. Background in public accounting preferred.• CPA preferredKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite with strong MS Excel abilities and accounting software.• Technically adept in all areas of accounting operations and transactions, including general ledger, consolidations, accounts payable, accounts receivable, collections, etc.• Strong knowledge of US GAAP requirements.• Proficient in financial systems.• Ability to keep technical knowledge current.• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong commitment to accuracy.• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.• Strong organizational and administrative skills.• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.• Commitment to maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and ethics.• Strong ethical standards and the ability to maintain confidentiality.Physical Requirements• Ability to lift and carry up to 5 lbs• Ability to sit and stand for extended periodsOther Physical Requirements:Work Environment: Work is performed primarily at the corporate office in Philadelphia.
