Horizon House is Pennsylvania's oldest psychiatric rehabilitation agency. Since 1952, Horizon House has been dedicated to helping people with mental illness, drug and alcohol addictions, developmental/intellectual disabilities, and homelessness to stabilize their lives and to assist them to live as independently as possible in a community-based setting. With over 100 locations throughout Southeastern Pennsylvania and the state of Delaware, Horizon House provides services to a diverse population focusing on individual strength and choice. We are seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our Residential Group Home team on Bennett House in Wilmington, Delaware, 19806. Work Schedule: Total 16 hours per week, 8-hour shifts, and weekends

We are pleased to confirm we can accommodate your new hire notice, allowing you to attend the first four-day, Monday-Thursday orientation schedule, day shift at our Philadelphia location. Mileage reimbursement will be provided for your attendance at new hire orientation.

Some duties would include the following:

• To provide direct care and supervision to participants in the residential group home setting.
• To ensure a safe, healthy, secure and recovery-oriented environment, which promotes growth and development.
• To facilitate participant growth and development toward independence in self-care, daily living, socialization and community integration.
• To participate in the development and implementation of the participants' recovery plans.

Qualifications include the following:

• High school diploma or GED required and current certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant in the state of Delaware.
• Ability to respond to disruptive behavior.
• Excellent communication skills both oral and written.
• Knowledge and ability to provide hands on assistance with activities of daily living.
• Possess a valid driver's license with and acceptable driving record.

Scope:

• Requires the ability to lift, carry, fold, bend, kneel, stack, stoop, which includes direct intervention with participants.
• Ability to climb and descend stairs.
• Possess manual dexterity and fine motor skills.
• Requires crisis intervention techniques in crisis situations.
