Trans Technical Writer SrLocation: Columbus, Ohio (On-site)Pay: $60-$70/hrRole OverviewThe Senior Compliance Technical Writer is responsible for producing, editing, and maintaining high-quality, audit-ready compliance documentation. This role operates in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment, translating complex regulatory, technical, and operational inputs into clear, accurate, and consistent process documentation. The writer will collaborate with compliance specialists, subject matter experts, and leadership to document processes and procedures that withstand regulatory scrutiny.Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare, edit, and maintain compliance documentation, including procedures, guidelines, policies, and process maps.Edit documents for spelling, grammar, clarity, consistency, content accuracy, and readability.Independently or collaboratively develop documentation outlines, content structures, and revision plans.Translate moderate to complex technical and regulatory requirements into clear, concise language suitable for a broad audience.Ensure documentation aligns with internal standards and external reliability requirements.Support a compliance group in documenting and maintaining regulated processes and systems.Research, develop, and coordinate updates to new and existing procedures in response to regulatory changes, audit findings, or internal process improvements.Verify documented processes reflect actual practices and system behavior.Coordinate documentation activities with internal departments and external organizations.Required QualificationsEducation: A Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Technical Communication, English, or a related field is required. A four-year technology degree with an emphasis on technical communication or equivalent professional experience is also acceptable.Experience: 4–5 years of technical writing or documentation experience is required. Experience in process mapping, workflow design, and procedure development is strongly preferred, particularly in a process or compliance context rather than a software or technology-focused background.Technical Skills: Proficiency with Visio for process mapping is required.Additional InformationThis is an on-site role, and candidates must be local to the area and able to work from the designated location. The position has the potential for conversion to a permanent role; however, sponsorship is not available. Candidates should be able to work independently, take initiative, and manage responsibilities with minimal oversight.
