We offer a competitive salary and excellent benefit package in an employee friendly and rewarding environment.Cost Accounting ResponsibilitiesDevelop and maintain the cost accounting standardsConduct inventory reserve analysisAssist the Controller with suggesting changes to policies or proceduresAccumulate and apply overhead costs as requiredReview rates of depreciation, labor and overhead and suggest policy changes to improve numbersMake estimates of new and proposed product costsClassify costs accuratelyGenerate Purchase Price Variance (PPV) reports and analyze findingsEstablish standard costs and update them as appropriateMaintain and review the general ledger and reconcile balance sheetsAnalyze costs of raw materials and other supplies and create cost-benefit analyses for changing vendorsProvide management with reports that specify and compare factors that affect prices and profitability of products or servicesPrepare monthly journal entriesAssist in audits and general ledger preparationAssist with physical inventoriesAnalytical ResponsibilitiesConduct ongoing process constraint analysesReport on breakeven points by products, work centers, and plantsReport on margins by product and divisionReport on periodic variances and their causesAnalyze capital budgeting requestsQualificationsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Bachelor's degree from a 4-year college or university with an interdisciplinary background in accounting/business2 years of Cost Accounting work experience (essential).Sound understanding of Accounting principles.Solid cost systems background.Analytical thinker with strong conceptual and problem-solving skills.Meticulous attention to detail with superb organizational skills.Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Excellent report-writing, communication and IT skills.Ability to read, analyze and interpret documents such as financial statements, general ledgers, journals and journal entries, detailed specifications, instructions and legal and contractual documents. Ability to write reports and business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information, both verbally and in writing.Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Ability to utilize statistical methods in basic data analysis. Ability to plot data and construct and interpret graphs.Ability to define problems, collect relevant data, establish facts and draw statistically valid conclusions. Ability to use abstract and concrete variables. Ability to provide and interpret an extensive variety of detailed technical instruction and information in written, mathematical or graphical form.Higher level of experience with spreadsheet applications. Intermediate or higher level of experience with Internet search engines. Employment history of candidate must demonstrate ability to achieve results.
