Job Title: General Laborer

Job Description

The General Laborer supports steel fabrication and production operations by preparing sheet metal and metal boxes for shipment, assembling hardware, and assisting multiple departments to ensure products are completed accurately and on time. This role involves hands-on work with hand and power tools, material handling, and maintaining a clean and organized work area.

Responsibilities

• Prepare sheet metal for shipment by cleaning, organizing, and staging materials according to specifications.
• Clean metal boxes and components thoroughly to ensure they are ready for packaging and shipment.
• Assemble screws, bars, and related hardware into their designated metal containers and assemblies.
• Assist with steel fabrication parts by handling materials, moving components, and supporting fabrication processes as needed.
• Support other departments to help ensure products move efficiently through production and are finished rapidly.
• Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively to complete assigned tasks.
• Measure materials accurately using a tape measure to ensure proper dimensions and fit.
• Lift, carry, and move materials and products weighing 50 pounds or more as required.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area in compliance with workplace safety guidelines.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in reading and using a tape measure accurately.
• Experience using hand tools and power tools in a work setting.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds or more on a regular basis.
• General labor experience in a production or industrial environment.
• Ability to follow instructions and work efficiently to meet production timelines.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Construction labor experience is a plus.
• Experience in construction, production, or related general labor roles is beneficial.
• Comfort working with metal materials and basic fabrication tasks.

Work Environment

This position operates in a steel fabrication and production facility, working directly with sheet metal, metal boxes, and related components. You will regularly use hand tools, power tools, and measuring devices such as tape measures while performing physically active tasks, including lifting 50 pounds or more. The workday involves standing, moving materials, and assisting various departments to keep production flowing efficiently. Appropriate work attire suitable for an industrial setting is required, and adherence to all safety practices and guidelines is expected.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wittmann, AZ.

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
