Land Development Finance Manager

Macdonald & Company are proudly partnered with a well-capitalized private real estate investment platform to appoint a Land Development Finance Manager to its Charlotte headquarters. The business provides capital to residential land developers across the United States, partnering with many of the country's leading homebuilders and developers to finance master-planned communities, single-family subdivisions and build-to-rent developments. Following continued portfolio growth and the expansion of its lending platform, the firm is looking to add an experienced residential land development professional who can bring practical development expertise to the capital side of the business. This is an opportunity for an experienced residential land development professional to step away from managing a single market or community and gain exposure to a diverse portfolio of projects across multiple markets. Working closely with the senior leadership team, you will oversee residential land development projects from a portfolio perspective, partnering directly with borrowers throughout the development lifecycle. Drawing on your experience delivering communities, you'll review development progress, monitor budgets and schedules, identify risks early and help ensure projects remain on track from due diligence through lot delivery and closeout. Responsibilities Monitor a portfolio of residential land development projects from due diligence through completion. Review development budgets, schedules, cash flow and overall project performance. Partner directly with developer sponsors, consultants and internal stakeholders to identify and mitigate project risk. Review draw requests, project reporting and development milestones. Evaluate entitlement progress, infrastructure delivery, lot production and municipal approvals. Conduct site visits as required to support project oversight and resolve development issues. Prepare portfolio updates and recommendations for senior leadership. Build long-term relationships with developer partners across the residential land development sector. Qualifications 7-15 years of experience in residential land development, homebuilding or master-planned community development. Experience managing projects through entitlements, horizontal development, lot delivery and closeout. Strong understanding of residential development budgets, scheduling, due diligence and infrastructure delivery. Exposure to acquisition feasibility, land planning or development underwriting is advantageous. Confident working with municipalities, engineers, contractors and external consultants. Commercially minded with the ability to identify development risks and propose practical solutions. Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Real Estate, Finance or a related discipline preferred. #J-18808-Ljbffr Macdonald & Company
