About the Position

We are seeking an Emergency Medicine Nurse Practitioner for a 4-day assignment in Iowa, starting Jul 24, 2026. The incoming provider will primarily cover the Emergency Department and Inpatient floor, working 24-hour shifts to manage patient care needs within a Critical Access Hospital setting.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Provide comprehensive care covering the Emergency Department and Inpatient floor; no clinic duties required.
• Work 24-hour shifts, including 24/7 call coverage.
• Conduct daily rounding starting at 8 AM with a multidisciplinary team including social worker/case manager, pharmacist, and nursing staff.
• Perform weekly swing bed rounding to discuss transition of care for patients.
• Manage an average daily census of 4-6 patients on the medical floor and 6-8 ED encounters per day.
• Address acuity levels including CHF, Cellulitis, COPD, and Gastrointestinal issues.
• Utilize telemedicine for subspecialty support from Cardiology, Pulmonology, and Infectious Disease.

Additional Information

• Board Certification in Emergency Medicine is required.
