Make a meaningful impact in the lives of students as a Special Education Teacher working with a highly supportive administration and staff. This contract opportunity in the Lakewood area extends through May 27, 2027, offering a consistent full-time schedule of 37.5 hours per week. The position will focus primarily on an Elementary Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) Center, serving a vital role within a district experienced in collaborating with contracted professionals.
Successful candidates will bring a passion for inclusive education as well as the necessary credentials to thrive in this environment. The district values collaboration and community and offers robust support to educators through both the district and your dedicated agency recruiter.
Key Qualifications:
- Current SPED Generalist license (required for all openings)
- Prior experience as a Special Education Teacher
- Knowledge of best practices for supporting students with Autism Spectrum Disorder a plus
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Dedication to fostering inclusive classroom environments
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) for students
- Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, and families
- Foster a positive and engaging learning environment tailored to student needs
- Track student progress and adjust instructional approaches as needed
- Uphold compliance with all state and district regulations
