Make a real difference in the lives of young adults by supporting their transition to independence in an engaging educational environment. This contract opportunity, running from 8/11 to 5/21/27, centers on providing specialized assistance to students ages 18–21+ as they navigate school and community life. The assignment is full-time, with 37.5 hours per week at a dynamic Transition Services program.
We seek professionals with a solid foundation in behavioral support and a deep commitment to empowering students with significant or severe disabilities. Prior experience within a school setting is highly valued, especially for those familiar with communication devices and supporting independence for young adults.
Desired Qualifications:
- Proven experience in schools as a paraprofessional or in a similar behavioral support role
- Strong behavioral background, with significant/severe caseload management preferable
- Demonstrated experience supporting individuals with disabilities, especially in community settings
- Familiarity with communication devices is a plus
- Reliable personal transportation and availability to report by 8:00am daily
- Ability to assist with toileting and diapering as needed
- No history of felonies or misdemeanors; fingerprinting required post-offer
- Location must be included when presenting credentials
Key Responsibilities:
- Support young adults with disabilities in academic and community settings
- Implement individual behavior plans and strategies
- Assist with personal care, mobility, and communication
- Foster independence and functional skills through daily routines
- Work collaboratively with educators, therapists, and families
Preferred Experience:
- Hands-on work with transition-age students
- Behavior intervention and communication technology usage
