Key Qualifications and Experience:

• Previous experience as a paraprofessional or in a comparable educational support position
• Demonstrated skills in managing classroom behaviors, including mild, moderate, and severe needs
• Familiarity with de-escalation techniques and proactive intervention
• Ability to work effectively with primary-aged children (K-2), particularly those at risk of eloping
• Strong collaboration skills to communicate with teachers, support staff, and families
• A compassionate, patient, and adaptable mindset

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide direct, hands-on support to students with behavioral needs in classroom and small group settings
• Monitor and ensure student safety, including preventing and responding appropriately to elopement situations
• Assist with implementation of individualized education plans and behavior management strategies
• Support instructional activities under the direction of certified teachers
• Foster a positive, inclusive, and structured learning environment
• Document incidents, progress, and communicate updates as needed to the educational team
