Research Operations Moderator

Firstsource is hiring an Onsite Research Operations Moderator to support an advanced multimodal data collection initiative for a global technology company. This role combines active participant facilitation with real-time equipment oversight and quality assurance. You will prepare and validate specialized recording equipment, welcome and onboard participants, manage consent and study protocols, monitor live recording quality during sessions, and coordinate data management—all while working in a fast-paced, precision-focused research environment. Training will be provided on all equipment and procedures. We are looking for someone who is comfortable with technology, can follow detailed procedures, works effectively with people, and stays calm when troubleshooting technical or operational issues in real time. This role also requires transporting equipment between designated storage locations and active session sites. Key Responsibilities Set up, calibrate, and validate recording equipment before sessions; ensure optimal capture angles and device synchronization Welcome participants, guide them through equipment fitting and onboarding, and manage consent/study protocol compliance Monitor live recording quality and data completeness during sessions Track participant continuity across sessions and coordinate daily content uploads Troubleshoot equipment issues and elevate complex technical problems Transport, maintain, and track equipment accountability between storage and session locations Complete detailed session documentation and validate data integrity What We're Looking For Valid driver's license & reliable personal vehicle (required to transport equipment) Comfortable learning and working with specialized multimodal recording equipment Strong attention to detail; ability to follow procedures consistently and validate quality standards Calm, resourceful problem-solver who handles unexpected situations professionally Clear communicator, comfortable working directly with participants and cross-functional teams Reliable, organized, independent worker who thrives in dynamic research environments Preferred Experience Research operations, data collection, or participant support background A/V, event production, or equipment management experience Quality assurance, real-time monitoring, or technical support roles Healthcare, education, or classroom environment experience Duration: Initial commitment approximately 1 month, with strong potential to extend to 3-4 months based on project needs and performance Start Date: As soon as possible Location: San Francisco Bay Area, CA (Fremont/Newark/Union City area with regular travel to multiple indoor and outdoor session sites) Schedule: Full-time availability required during active project phases (8:00 AM - 5:00 PM typical; flexible scheduling including some evenings/weekends) #J-18808-Ljbffr Firstsource
