Customer Service Representative / Sales & Scheduling Coordinator
Tigard, OR | Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
$22–$25/hour

A growing and well-established home improvement company serving the Portland Metro and Vancouver Metro areas is looking for an experienced Customer Service Representative / Sales & Scheduling Coordinator to join their team.

This is more than a traditional customer service or receptionist position. You’ll be the first point of contact for homeowners , helping customers understand their service options, addressing questions and concerns, overcoming objections, and turning inbound calls and inquiries into scheduled jobs.

The right person is reliable, caring, detail-oriented, comfortable with sales, and able to learn and retain a lot of information quickly . You’ll work across multiple systems throughout the day while coordinating customers, schedules, field employees, and job details.

Construction or home improvement experience is a strong plus, but we are also interested in candidates with strong call-center, customer service, scheduling, or sales backgrounds who have the ability and drive to learn the industry.

Pay

$22–$25/hour, depending on experience

• Monthly performance bonus based on booking and customer-satisfaction goals
• Regular pay reviews
• Opportunity to grow into a Lead CSR / Office Manager role

Schedule

Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM

This is an in-office position in Tigard, OR .

What You'll Do

• Answer inbound customer calls and serve as a professional first point of contact
• Convert inbound calls and online inquiries into booked jobs
• Use the company's sales process to understand customer needs, overcome objections, and close appointments
• Explain services, scheduling expectations, and next steps to homeowners
• Book appointments and resolve scheduling conflicts
• Coordinate with field employees to ensure jobs are scheduled appropriately
• Maintain accurate customer and job information across multiple systems
• Process customer payments and assist with billing as needed
• Communicate with customers throughout the scheduling and service process
• Learn and retain service information, scheduling guidelines, job requirements, and other details needed to accurately assist customers
• Adapt to changes in scheduling, job requirements, staffing, and other day-to-day needs within the construction industry
• Participate in ongoing coaching and apply feedback to improve performance

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who can combine excellent customer service with sales ability and strong attention to detail .

Required

• 2+ years of customer service experience
• 1+ year of sales experience, including working from a sales script or structured sales process
• Comfortable in a sales-forward environment where booking and conversion are important performance measures
• Strong verbal communication and professional phone presence
• Comfortable handling customer questions, concerns, and price objections
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills
• Ability to learn and retain detailed information
• Comfortable working in multiple software systems throughout the day
• Prior clerical/data entry experience
• Comfortable booking appointments and resolving scheduling conflicts
• Comfortable billing customers and taking payments
• Proficient with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel
• Comfortable working on Mac computers
• Reliable, trustworthy, and customer-focused
• Receptive to direct, constructive feedback and able to apply coaching

Strongly Preferred

• Experience in construction, home improvement, remodeling, handyman services, or another residential service industry
• Call center experience
• Home-service customer service or scheduling experience
• Experience with dispatching or coordinating field employees
• Experience handling sales objections and closing inbound leads
• Typing speed of 50+ WPM
• Experience working in multiple CRM, scheduling, phone, or communication platforms
• Experience using AI tools to support daily work

You don't need to know every system on day one, but you should be comfortable learning new technology and moving between multiple platforms.

What Success Looks Like

The company understands that you won't know the construction industry or its service process on day one.

What matters is your ability to learn, retain information, ask questions, and apply what you've learned .

You'll need to become comfortable remembering details such as:

• How long different jobs or projects typically take
• Which field employee is appropriate for a particular job
• How different services are scheduled
• Company procedures and service guidelines
• How to navigate multiple systems while speaking with customers
• How to follow the company's Service Path from the initial call through scheduling

You'll receive training, resources, and regular coaching to help you become successful in the role, including the opportunity for weekly one-on-one check-ins.
