Senior Business Analyst

Position Overview:


We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Business Analyst to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, a passion for problem-solving, and the ability to communicate complex information effectively. As a Business Analyst, you will play a critical role in identifying business needs, analyzing processes, and implementing solutions that drive efficiency and support organizational goals. This BA will assist in a large integration project of the client's Crew Management Applications. This project is critical to the merger and very complex. It has a high visibility and impact on the organization.


Key Responsibilities:

• Requirements Gathering: Collaborate with stakeholders to understand their business needs and objectives. Document and analyze requirements to ensure they align with business goals.
• Data Analysis: Collect, analyze, and interpret data to identify trends, patterns, and insights. Use data-driven findings to make informed recommendations.
• Process Improvement: Evaluate existing processes and create workflow diagrams. Propose and implement improvements to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness. Perform Gap Analysis
• Solution Design: Develop and propose solutions that address business challenges. Work closely with technical teams to ensure successful implementation and integration.
• Documentation: Create and maintain detailed documentation, including business requirements, process flows, and user stories. Ensure that all documentation is clear, comprehensive, and up-to-date.
• Stakeholder Communication: Serve as a liaison between business units and technical teams. Facilitate meetings, presentations, and workshops to communicate findings and gather feedback.
• Project Support: Assist in project planning, monitoring, and execution. Provide support throughout the project lifecycle to ensure timely and successful delivery of solutions.
• Testing and Validation: Collaborate with QA teams to develop test plans and scripts. Validate that solutions meet business requirements and perform as expected.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., CBAP, PMI-PBA) are a plus.
• Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst or in a similar role. Proven experience in requirements gathering, creating workflow diagrams, process improvement, and documentation. Testing experience is a plus
• Skills:
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • This role will wear many hats and be willing and able to assist in several areas.
  • Gathering requirements, documentation, workflow diagrams, gap analysis
  • Experience working in the transportation or rail industry is helpful but not required
  • Knowledgeable in the SDLC, SIT, and UAT testing.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of COBOL/VSAM systems is a plus
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • Familiarity with project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall) is desirable.
• Technical Skills: Experience with business analysis software (e.g., JIRA, Confluence) and knowledge of database management systems are advantageous.
