Position Summary

As the Executive Chef, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our culinary identity. From menu development to team leadership, you’ll oversee all aspects of the kitchen while maintaining the highest standards of food quality, safety, and guest satisfaction. Key Responsibilities

Culinary Leadership

• Develop and maintain menu offerings that align with Ridge and Rail’s brand.
• Create seasonal specials, catering menus, and event-specific dishes.
• Ensure consistency, quality, and exceptional presentation of all menu items.
• Monitor guest feedback and adjust offerings to enhance satisfaction.

Kitchen Operations

• Oversee daily kitchen operations, including prep, line execution, and service.
• Manage inventory levels, food ordering, and cost controls.
• Establish recipes, portion controls, and production procedures.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen environment.

Team Leadership

• Recruit, train, mentor, and develop kitchen staff.
• Create schedules that support business needs while managing labor costs.
• Foster a professional, positive, and accountable work culture.
• Conduct performance evaluations and provide coaching as needed.

Food Safety & Compliance

• Ensure compliance with all food safety regulations.
• Lead health inspection readiness and corrective action plans.
• Enforce proper food handling, storage, and sanitation procedures.

Financial Responsibilities

• Manage food cost percentages and kitchen labor budgets.
• Analyze sales trends and menu performance to improve profitability.
• Participate in budgeting and forecasting.

Catering & Events

• Collaborate with management and event coordinators on private events and catering.
• Design event menus and oversee execution for special occasions.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of kitchen management experience, including leadership responsibilities.
• Strong knowledge of food costing, inventory management, and labor controls.
• Proven ability to lead and motivate a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• ServSafe Certification preferred or ability to obtain.
• Experience with catering and banquet operations is a plus.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand for extended periods.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays as business demands.
