Job Overview Our organization is looking for a Registered Nurse to join the Pediatric Emergency Room team at our New Brunswick campus. Qualifications Required: Associate's Degree in Nursing or a Nursing Diploma Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification 4 to 5 years of experience as a Pediatric Emergency Department RN or in Pediatric Critical Care Excellent communication and organizational abilities Strong computer proficiency Preferred: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or completion within 5 years of hire Experience as a Pediatric RN is highly desirable National certification and Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification preferred Certifications and Licenses Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications Active Registered Nurse License in New Jersey Scheduling Requirements Night Shift Essential Functions The Registered Nurse delivers nursing care within the framework established by the Nurse Practice Act and adheres to ethical standards as outlined by the ANA code of ethics. Ensures safety in practice while applying evidence-based principles, recognizing personal knowledge and experience levels, and taking responsibility for enhancing the knowledge of self and the patient care team through effective communication and resource utilization. Responsible for reporting safety concerns, including hazardous conditions and medical errors. Maintains knowledge of the patient demographics served. Supervises and directs task delegation to appropriate team members while collaborating with other healthcare providers. Sets and evaluates priorities consistently, implementing interventions with measurable outcomes aimed at improvement. Acts as an individual practitioner and interdisciplinary team manager, utilizing the nursing process to tailor care plans to meet specific patient needs.
