Job Description

The Operator will work closely with the Shift Production Foreman to oversee the operation and monitoring of various crushing and screening equipment. The role involves loading raw materials into the primary feed tank, operating the primary crusher, and ensuring materials are appropriately sized for the primary screener.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine checks of equipment for worn parts and replace parts as needed, including crusher tips, screener’s screens, dust lines, screener inlet, and discharge boots.
• Clean floors, platforms, and catwalks each shift using an industrial vacuum.
• Fill, transport, palletize, stack, and organize drums and super sacks of abrasive grain from inside the crusher building.
• Attend to dust collectors in the crusher building and change discharge sacks when full.
• Perform material sampling and deliver samples to the lab for analysis multiple times per shift.
• Move magnetic tailings from the crusher building into the metal dumpster.
• Conduct chain hoist inspections prior to use.
• Maintain housekeeping throughout the shift, especially if a leak develops before returning to operations.
• Perform other necessary duties and projects as assigned.

Essential Skills

• Ability to work from elevated platforms and basements to monitor equipment, and climb ladders and stairs to inspect operations constantly.
• Basic computer skills and ability to perform basic math calculations.
• Mechanical inclination and proficiency in using basic hand tools such as wrenches, screwdrivers, and mallets.
• Safety-oriented approach with efficiency in meeting daily production targets.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in an abrasives company is advantageous.
• Strong mechanical inclination with understanding of machines and maintenance.
• Proficiency in operating forklifts.
• Basic math skills and strong English proficiency.

This is a Permanent position based out of North Grafton, MA.

The pay range for this position is $58240.00 - $64480.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
