Customer Service / Inside Sales Representative - Industrial Distributor (36548)

Job Description

A global industrial equipment distributor is seeking a motivated Inside Sales and Customer Service Representative to support their operations near Glendale Heights, IL. The ideal candidate will be strongly organized and detail-oriented, and will have established work experience in inside sales, customer service and logistics operations.

This is a full-time, permanent, direct hire position with a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, vision, and life insurances, PTO, and 401k program. This position is hourly and non-exempt, with occasional overtime required to meet business demands.

Customer Service and Inside Sales Representative responsibilities include:

• Act as a point of contact for customers and internal clients regarding order status, logistics tracking, questions and issues, etc. via phone and email
\n
• Perform accurate data entry, receive and process purchase orders and return authorizations, and update logistics information and sales activity in the company system(s)
\n
• Work closely with Operations and Sales departments to ensure orders are processed and demand is forecasted accurately
\n
• Assist with reviewing purchase orders and credit memos
\n
• Interface with other internal departments and external suppliers (both domestic and international) to ensure timely delivery of products
\n
• Provide customer service and resolve issues with purchases, warranty issues, and delivery as needed
\n
• Track inventory and ensure adequate stock to fulfill product requests and purchases
\n
• Other duties as assigned

Customer Service and Inside Sales Representative qualifications include:

\n
• Associate's degree is preferred. A completed high school diploma with relevant work experience will also be considered.
\n
• At least 2 - 3 years' work experience in sales support, purchasing and inventory control, inside sales administration, or customer service, preferably in a manufacturing environment
\n
• Ability to do basic math calculations, including calculating percentages and discounts
\n
• Experience with order entry using ERP systems (i.e., SAP, JD Edwards, Oracle)
\n
• Strong computer skills and experience in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.)
\n
• Organized and detail-oriented
\n
• Good communication and collaboration ability in a multicultural environment
\n
• Ability to be self-sufficient and work independently with minimal direct supervision
\n
• Strong problem-solving and time management skills
\n
• Ability to sit for extended periods of time and use hands and fingers for typing. Occasionally required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, or crouch. Occasionally lift and move up to 10 pounds. Ability to use close vision and adjust focus.
