Contract | Nights | 3×12-hour shifts, 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM | Weekend commitment expected (every other weekend or 6 weekend shifts per 6-week scheduling block) | One holiday required per 13-week contract

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a PCU/Medical-Renal stepdown setting serving adult and geriatric populations at a 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Perform cardiac monitoring, interpret and manage dysrhythmias, and support management of cardiac drips (without titration)
• Administer IV therapy, blood products, and manage central and peripheral line care
• Provide respiratory support via nasal cannula and oxygen administration; apply non-invasive airway management techniques
• Participate in rapid response and code team activations; maintain appropriate isolation precautions
• Float within skillset as needed; care for a diverse patient population including gastrointestinal, pulmonary, and other hospitalist-covered surgical or procedural patients

• Active Virginia state RN license or valid Compact RN license required; pending license accepted only if candidate holds a single-state license from a non-compact state
• ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Demonstrated experience in a PCU, DOU, IMC, or Stepdown clinical setting
• Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility may be considered for one 13-week assignment with no eligibility to extend; candidates residing 50-99.9 miles away may also be considered for one 13-week assignment with no eligibility to extend; candidates residing within 100 miles are generally considered local - please confirm eligibility prior to submission

• Experience caring for patients with renal diagnoses or complex medical conditions managed by hospitalist teams
• Familiarity with chronic ventilator patient care
• Prior travel nursing experience welcomed; first-time travelers are also encouraged to apply
