Energy Project Estimation Specialist for AI Evaluation

Pre-construction Managers apply hands-on experience in energy project estimation, construction planning, and solar design to evaluate AI-generated content and produce expert training data that improves AI understanding of project development workflows and cost estimation. This is hourly contract work, fully remote and flexible, suitable to take on alongside other professional commitments. No prior AI experience is required.

• Use your professional knowledge and day-to-day tools to create expert-level training data and assess AI outputs for technical accuracy and practical relevance.
• Review AI-generated estimates, design sketches, and construction plans for correctness, feasibility, and alignment with real-world pre-construction practices.
• Provide detailed, actionable feedback and corrections that reflect standard workflows and cost-estimation methods.
• Document representative examples, edge cases, and common pitfalls from actual projects to improve model performance.

• At least 2 years of professional experience in energy project estimation, pre-construction, or solar design.
• Relevant roles include Estimator, Project Engineer, Pre-construction Manager, Solar Design Engineer, or equivalent positions in the energy industry.
• Hands-on experience with one or more of the following tools: Bluebeam Revu, RSMeans, Aurora Solar.
• Strong written communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and asynchronously with research teams.
• No prior AI experience required.

• Remote, part-time, hourly contract engagement.
• Flexible, asynchronous schedule with no minimum hour requirement; when participating in an active project, most contributors work approximately 5 to 20 hours per week.
• Placement on specific projects depends on current project needs; contributors may be considered for future projects as they become available, but assignment is not guaranteed.

Up to $85/hr (depending on the project).
