Social Media & Content Specialist

Yours Humanly is seeking a dynamic, self-motivated volunteer to build, manage, and grow our presence across social media, creating content that shares our mission with new audiences and drives engagement.

Volunteer Responsibilities

• Build and maintain an active, engaging presence across Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and X.
• Create a content calendar and develop, curate, and schedule posts that build awareness of our mission and programs.
• Conceptualize, design, and create visually engaging content — including photos, graphics, and short-form video (reels/stories) — that authentically represents our mission.
• Plan and manage paid social media advertising campaigns (e.g., Meta Ads Manager) to expand reach and support fundraising and volunteer recruitment.
• Curate and respond to community engagement to grow our follower base and strengthen supporter relationships.
• Stay current with social media trends and platform best practices, bringing new ideas to our strategy.
• Track and report on performance (reach, engagement, follower growth, ad results).
• Collaborate closely with our CEO and our SEO and Analytics/Ads volunteers to keep messaging aligned.

Preferred Skills

• Excellent working knowledge of Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and X; familiarity with TikTok or YouTube Shorts a plus.
• Strong writing and copy-editing skills.
• Ability to create engaging content — text, image, and short-form video (reels).
• Experience running paid social media ad campaigns.
• Prior experience as a social media manager or strategist.
• Highly self-motivated, with strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently.
• Nonprofit or mission-driven organization experience a plus.

Time Commitment

Ongoing, approximately 3–5 hours per week, with a flexible schedule.

Location

Remote, with preference for volunteers in the San Francisco Bay Area.
