Role Description The Executive Chef is a part‑time, on‑site role based in Plymouth, MA, responsible for overseeing all kitchen operations and culinary execution. Day‑to‑day tasks include planning and developing menus, supervising food preparation and cooking, ensuring consistent quality and presentation, and maintaining food safety and sanitation standards. The Executive Chef manages inventory and ordering, controls food costs, and coordinates with bar and front‑of‑house leadership to support events, specials, and seasonal offerings. This role includes scheduling and leading the kitchen team, training staff on recipes and procedures, and fostering a culture of teamwork and accountability. The Executive Chef is expected to be hands‑on on the line during service, respond to guest feedback through the menu, and adapt to the needs of a busy bar environment. Qualifications Culinary expertise: Strong skills in cooking techniques, menu development, and plating, with experience leading a professional kitchen. Kitchen operations: Ability to manage inventory, ordering, food cost control, and adherence to health, safety, and sanitation regulations. Leadership and communication: Proven experience supervising and training kitchen staff, giving clear direction, and collaborating with front‑of‑house teams. Organization and time management: Skilled at coordinating multiple tickets, maintaining quality during peak service, and prioritizing tasks in a fast‑paced environment. Creativity and innovation: Capacity to design bar‑friendly menus, daily specials, and seasonal dishes that align with the venue’s concept and guest preferences. Experience: Prior experience as an Executive Chef, Head Chef, or Sous Chef in a bar, restaurant, or hospitality setting is strongly preferred. Education and certifications: Culinary degree or equivalent experience is beneficial; current food safety and sanitation certification required or ability to obtain promptly.
