Work Environment

As a Physical Therapist Assistant at our facility, you will work onsite in a hospital-based rehabilitation program, directly supporting a diverse array of patients. Our facility is equipped with state-of-the-art rehabilitation tools and modalities, ensuring you have access to the best resources to facilitate effective treatment. Your typical work schedule will be Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, with occasional flexibility required based on patient needs and clinic operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Physical Therapist in implementing individualized treatment plans focused on enhancing patients' mobility, strength, and overall functionality.
• Facilitate therapeutic exercises, stretches, and activities, guiding patients towards achieving their rehabilitation goals while promoting pain relief and physical well-being.
• Educate patients on proper body mechanics and exercise techniques, enabling them to conduct home exercise programs that complement their in-clinic therapies.
• Administer modalities such as electrical stimulation, ultrasound, and heat/cold therapy in accordance with the supervising Physical Therapist's directives.
• Monitor and document patient progress meticulously, tracking parameters such as range of motion, strength gains, and functional improvements.
• Maintain treatment areas, ensuring equipment and supplies are organized and readily available for efficient therapy sessions.
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, including Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, and Speech-Language Pathologists, to coordinate care and enhance patient outcomes.
• Provide emotional support and encouragement to patients, fostering a motivating environment throughout their rehabilitation journey.
• Adhere to professional standards and ethical guidelines, maintaining patient confidentiality at all times.

Patient Population / Client Focus

In this role, you will serve a diverse patient demographic, including individuals recovering from surgeries, elderly patients needing mobility assistance, young athletes in rehabilitation for sports injuries, and individuals involved in complex neurological recovery. Each patient's journey is unique, and you will play a crucial role in tailoring treatment strategies to meet their specific needs and preferences.

Qualifications

• Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
• Current state license or certification as a Physical Therapist Assistant in California.
• Strong foundational knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and therapeutic interventions specific to physical therapy.
• Proficiency in implementing therapeutic exercises and modalities, demonstrating a commitment to high standards of care.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, fostering rapport with patients and effective collaboration with the healthcare team.
• Empathetic, patient-centered approach with a genuine desire to contribute to patient rehabilitation success.
• Ability to adapt treatment strategies to various populations, reflecting an understanding of individual patient needs.

Preferred Experience

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of $50,000 to $65,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
