Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled nurse to join our team for a night shift position. The role requires strong nursing background and excellent assessment skills to provide optimal patient care.

Location

A beautiful area in Alexandria, LA.

Unit Details

  • Unit Name: 4 South
  • Number of Beds: 36
  • Patient Ratios: 1:6
  • Unit Staffing: 2 unit secretaries from 0600-2200 daily and patient care techs available at all times with fluctuating ratios based on census.
Equipment
  • Telemetry monitors in each patient room with centralized monitoring stations
  • Dynamaps for vital signs
  • Glucometers
  • iMobile phones
  • Bladder scanners
Documentation and Scheduling
  • Documentation System: Meditech
  • Shift Requirements: 12-hour shifts (7 PM - 7 AM), every other weekend, and holidays required.
  • Floating Policy: Nurses may float to other units as needed.
Patient Experience
  • Engagement in hourly rounding
  • Participating in bedside shift report
  • Utilizing My Care Boards
  • Employing AIDET (Acknowledge, Introduce, Duration, Explanation, Thank you)
Hospital Certifications and Achievements
  • Pathways to Excellence Certified
  • Certified Stroke Center
  • Certified Chest Pain Center
  • Level II Trauma Center
Candidate Requirements
  • Must possess ACLS certification prior to submission
  • Must have BLS certification
  • Strong nursing background with thorough assessment skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to recognize condition changes
  • Positive attitude, flexibility, dependability, and teamwork capabilities
  • Strong self-motivation, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Desire for excellence and strong accountability
  • Ability to multitask and remain calm in stressful situations
Advanced Skills Required

Experience in telemetry rhythm interpretation is essential.

Unit Procedures
  • PICC line removal
  • Vascular catheter and temporary catheter removal
Dress Code

Required uniform: Ceil Blue Scrubs. Compliance with the hospital's hygiene and dress code policy is mandatory.
