Short-Arc (GMAW) Tack Welder

POSITION OVERVIEW We are seeking a dedicated Short Arc (GMAW) Tack Welder with at least 3 months of tack welding experience. The candidate will provide necessary tools to a ship fitter and assist as directed to include tacking, grinding, or other assigned duties. REQUIREMENTS Minimum of 3 months of tack welding experience Must pass a hands‑on Short-Arc (GMAW) tacker T‑joint test in the vertical and overhead positions with the vertical position tack welded with downhill progression Must be able to work in confined/enclosed spaces Must be able to work/climb in elevations greater than 5′ SKILLS Proficiency in Short-Arc (GMAW) tack welding techniques RESPONSIBILITIES Weld structural metal components using the Short-Arc (GMAW) tack welding technique Follow blueprints, work orders, and oral instructions to complete welding tasks Ensure welds meet quality standards and specifications Enter and move through manholes to reach and work in internally confined spaces Provide ship fitter with assistance whenever deemed necessary Perform fire watch duties #J-18808-Ljbffr Bollinger Shipyards
