Case-based Causal Methods Lead Consultant, Evaluation Office, New York, USA (Remote) Position: 6 months. Contract type: Consultant. Duty Station: New York. Level: Consultancy. Location: United States. Categories: Operations. Responsibilities Lead the design and implementation of the Qualitative Comparative Analysis (QCA) component of the evaluation. Provide methodological leadership on design, implementation, reporting, and dissemination of QCA results and their integration with other evaluation components. Generate cross‑nationally comparable evidence on outcome‑level results of UNICEF’s CPSS strategy for preventing and responding to violence. Qualifications Advanced university degree (minimum Master’s) in Political Science / Comparative Politics, Statistics / Applied Social Research, Public Policy / Evaluation, or Social Sciences with quantitative methods specialization. Minimum 10 years of experience designing and applying QCA in international development or complex evaluation contexts. Experience working within the UN system or other international organizations. Track record of leading multi‑country comparative studies. Fluency in English (written and spoken); working knowledge of French or Spanish is an asset. Advanced data management and analysis skills. Knowledge of child protection programmes. Strong report‑writing and communication skills. Team player mindset, capable of collaborating in a multicultural environment and working independently.
