Clinical Physician - Diagnostic Radiology - Full Time 8 Hour Days (Exempt) (Non-Union)

Performs medical services and other related work as required for the well‑being of patients at a medical facility. Responsibilities Perform medical assessments of patients. Assess and evaluate patients with a variety of medical and/or surgical conditions. Establish and monitor a medically appropriate level of care for patients. Stress health education and preventive medical care, where appropriate. Obtain complete or focused medical histories from patients. Perform appropriate physical examinations, as situation dictates. Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date medical records and prepare reports, as needed. Devise diagnostic treatment plans to address patients’ medical needs. Order laboratory and radiologic tests. Interpret laboratory, radiologic, cardiographic, and other tests. Prescribe and administer medications, vaccines, and other treatments, as needed. Identify unstable or high‑level‑of‑care patients and make arrangements for transfer to appropriate facilities. Refer patients for medical and/or other treatment, when appropriate. Perform medical procedures such as injections, immunizations, suturing, and wound care and manage conditions caused by infection or trauma. Arrange medical follow‑up plans, as appropriate. Ensure patients understand discharge instructions and follow‑up planning. Work with Counseling Services staff in cases presenting with mental health problems. Ensure compliance with regulatory, legal, and departmental requirements. Ensure compliance with documentation requirements as specified by JCAHO and other accrediting agencies. Maintain professional affiliations, licenses, certifications, etc. Stay current on developments in the field of medicine. Attend and participate in patient care meetings, clinic meetings, and other events, as required. Perform other related duties as assigned or requested. Required Qualifications MD Degree in Medicine or D.O. Degree in Medicine. 1 year experience as an M.D. or D.O. Ability to provide diagnostic treatment and counseling services. Ability to analyze situations and take effective action. Excellent interpersonal skills in order to interact with supervisors, physicians, nurses, other staff, students, patients and their families. Possess a high degree of confidentiality, discretion, and professionalism. Preferred Qualifications 2 years experience as an M.D. or D.O. Required Licenses / Certifications Medical Doctor with current, valid license to practice medicine in the state of California. Specialty Certification: Board certified in current specialty area. DEA Certificate. Fire Life Safety Training (LA City). If no card upon hire, one must be obtained within 30 days of hire and renewed before expiration (required only in LA City).
