Senior Java Developer/Application Systems AnalystRequired Skills & Experience: College Degree in the field of computer science, information science, management information systems Minimum 8 years' IT development experience or equivalent Java 17+ & Spring Boot: Design, develop, and modernize enterprise applications and legacy systems into scalable cloud-ready solutions. REST APIs & Microservices: Build and maintain API-first integrations and microservices supporting policy administration and enterprise platforms (primarily maintain & enhance). Kafka/Event-Driven Architecture: Develop scalable integrations using messaging and asynchronous communication patterns. SQL & Hibernate/JPA: Design and optimize database interactions, complex queries, and application data models across Oracle, SQL Server, or PostgreSQL. Docker, Kubernetes & CI/CD (Azure DevOps/Git): Support containerized deployments, automated delivery pipelines, code reviews, and release management. Soft Skills: Effective verbal and written communications skills and the ability to communicate with business partners and other IT staff Problem solving skills sufficient to perform research and recommend a proposed solution to problems Able to work on multiple tasks and meet established deadlines Able to effectively direct and coordinate the work of other team members on a project without having HR management responsibility for them Nice to Have Skills & Experience: Support life insurance and policy administration platforms, including underwriting and new business processing systems Lead legacy application modernization and enterprise digital transformation initiatives Leverage AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, and Claude to improve productivity and code quality Design technical models and integration solutions using UML, ER Diagrams, and architecture best practices Drive Agile planning and execution through SAFe PI Planning and large-scale enterprise delivery experience Perform system evaluations and business analysis, including ROI, cost-benefit analysis, and vendor integration management experienceJob Description: Insight Global is seeking a Senior Java Developer/Application Systems Analyst for a leading financial services client. The role focuses on building cloud-native microservices using Java, Spring Boot, Kafka, and modern DevOps practices while leading system analysis, architecture, and integration efforts. The ideal candidate will bring strong hands-on development expertise, mentor junior team members, collaborate within a SAFe Agile environment, and drive modernization initiatives that improve scalability, automation, security, and overall business value. This individual will be compensated at annual salary range between $100K to $145K.
