Job Summary DistributionSpecialists are needed to properly and efficiently handle materials shipping toand from the University. They areresponsible for receiving shipments, maintaining the warehouse, handlingsurplus property, and assisting in property disposal. Primary Duties and Responsibilities Receives shipments, verifyingthe number of packages received, noting the condition of packagesreceived, and collecting the proper documentation. Enters packages received anddelivered into the Track-padsystem, obtains signatures as required,and notes any damage or discrepancies. Performs duties such asunloading and loading trucks for delivery, sorting items for delivery todepartments, delivering items promptly, and obtaining signatures asrequired. Accepts and documents surplusitems received by organizing and storing surplus by categories, and maintainingsurplus records in the surplus property database. Processes requests for items tobe shipped out and maintains proper documentation. Operates vehicles such as vans,trucks, forklifts, and pallet jacks.Maintains a neat and orderlywarehouse. Performs other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications High School diploma or GED with at least threemonths experience in a warehouse atmosphere. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Excellent verbal and social skills. Ability to operate a computer, and possess a basic knowledge ofMicrosoft Excel and Word. Preferred Qualifications Associates Degree from an accredited college.
