Industrial Ironworker / Structural Steel ErectorBengal Crane & Rigging | Beaumont, TXJob Type: Full-Time | HourlyPay: $33–$35/hour, based on experience, certifications, and qualificationsSchedule: Project-based schedule; overtime, weekends, nights, and extended hours may be requiredBuild Your Career with BengalBengal Crane & Rigging is hiring experienced Industrial Ironworkers to erect, connect, align, and secure structural steel on industrial and heavy-construction projects throughout the Houston area.This is a hands-on field position involving structural steel erection, bolt-up, rigging, crane signaling, elevated work, and the installation of platforms, stairs, grating, handrails, and related structural components.We are looking for safety-driven ironworkers who can read drawings, work confidently at elevated heights, communicate effectively with crane operators and rigging crews, and complete quality work without constant supervision.Bengal has supported industrial, petrochemical, construction, crane, rigging, and heavy-transport projects across the Gulf South for more than 25 years.What We OfferCompetitive hourly pay based on experienceWeekly pay with direct depositOvertime opportunitiesMajor medical, dental, and vision insuranceCompany-paid life insurance401(k) retirement planShort-term and long-term disability optionsPaid vacation and holidaysConsistent work with a growing Gulf South contractorLong-term career and advancement opportunitiesMilitary -friendly employerWhat You'll Be DoingRaise, position, connect, align, and secure columns, beams, girders, and other structural steel membersConnect structural steel using bolts, welds, and approved fastening methodsPerform initial and final bolt-up according to drawings, specifications, and project requirementsRead and interpret structural drawings, erection plans, details, elevations, bolt schedules, and specificationsRig steel members using slings, chokers, shackles, chains, cables, taglines, and other approved rigging equipmentSignal crane and equipment operators during lifting and steel-placement operationsGuide structural members into position using taglines, drift pins, bull pins, spud wrenches, come-alongs, turnbuckles, jacks, and related toolsVerify vertical and horizontal alignment using levels, plumb bobs, lasers, transits, and other measuring equipmentInstall structural steel, metal decking, grating, stairs, ladders, handrails, platforms, supports, and miscellaneous metalsCut, grind, fit, and modify structural components as permitted by project specificationsPerform tack welding or structural welding only when properly trained, tested, and authorizedInspect tools, fall-protection equipment, rigging hardware, and connection points before useMaintain positive control of tools and materials while working at elevated heightsCoordinate closely with crane operators, riggers, welders, supervisors, and other construction craftsFollow erection sequences, lift plans, barricades, exclusion zones, and dropped-object prevention requirementsMaintain a clean, organized, and safe work areaParticipate in safety meetings, job hazard analyses, training, and customer orientationsFollow all Bengal, customer, OSHA, and project-specific safety proceduresPerform other duties as assigned by project supervisionWhat You NeedAt least three years of verifiable industrial or heavy-construction ironworker experienceStrong structural steel erection, connecting, alignment, and bolt-up experienceExperience working from aerial lifts, scaffolds, ladders, and structural steel at elevated heightsWorking knowledge of basic rigging methods, crane hand signals, taglines, and load controlAbility to read and interpret structural drawings, erection plans, and specificationsAbility to properly use spud wrenches, bull pins, drift pins, impacts, come-alongs, torches, grinders, levels, and related ironworker toolsUnderstanding of fall protection, steel erection safety, dropped-object prevention, and controlled-access areasAbility to safely connect steel while maintaining required tie-offReliable transportation to Houston-area job sitesAbility to work overtime, weekends, nights, and extended schedules when requiredAbility to work independently and as part of a crane, rigging, and steel-erection crewStrong safety awareness, communication, dependability, and attention to detailThis is a field-based structural steel erection position. Welding-only, shop fabrication, or structural-fitting experience without field erection and connecting experience will not substitute for the required ironworker experience.Preferred QualificationsFour or more years of journeyman-level industrial ironworker experienceNCCER Industrial Ironworker certificationNCCER or third-party Rigger and Signal Person certificationOSHA 10 or OSHA 30Current TWIC cardCurrent Houston-area safety council credentialsAerial lift or mobile elevated work platform certificationFall-protection and rescue trainingStructural welding certificationExperience working in petrochemical plants, refineries, terminals, power facilities, or other industrial environmentsSite-specific credentials may be required before assignment.
