Senior Staff Accountant

JOB SUMMARY: This position is responsible for assisting with the timely and accurate preparation of financial information for Dallas Sports & Entertainment, L.P., its subsidiaries, related parties, and interests. The incumbent performs accounting functions, data entry, and financial analysis.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Record journal entries and assist with monthly and year-end close processes
• Assist in preparing, reviewing, and presenting monthly financial statement packages and forecasts for assigned departments and entities
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis
• Assist with rolling forward and preparing annual department budget templates
• Support annual audits, league reporting, and annual tax filings
• Create and maintain supporting analysis files to support business decisions
• Build relationships with assigned department heads and participate in monthly meetings, as needed
• Support other team members' roles as needed

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required. CPA preferred
• Two or more years of relevant experience required
• Ability to multitask, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and work under tight deadlines required
• Ability to communicate effectively with other departments, customers, and vendors
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, with an emphasis on Excel
• Strong attention to detail

Physical Demands and Working Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to stand, walk, sit, use hands and fingers, handle large objects, tools, and carts, and operate machinery. The employee may also be required to reach, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb, talk, and hear for up to 8-14 hours per day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The employee may be required to work both indoors and outdoors, as needed, and may be exposed to adverse conditions, including inclement weather, noise, fumes, etc.
