Lead Carpenter
Sacramento Area Sewer District (SacSewer) is currently accepting applications for a Lead Carpenter position. Applications will be screened after the following filing deadlines at 5PM:
August 18, 2026, September 1, 2026 (final)
This class is the lead and advanced journey level in the Carpenter series. Incumbents in this class are responsible for providing technical assistance and training to, and guiding, checking, assigning, and correcting the work of, a group of Carpenters. In addition, incumbents perform the most difficult, complex, and/or sensitive assignments related to the carpentry trade.
Minimum qualifications include six (6) years of full-time paid experience as a carpenter. Including two (2) years at the journey level and two (2) years in a commercial and/or industrial environment. Successful completion of a four-year state accredited carpenter apprenticeship program may substitute for four (4) years of the non-journey level experience. A General Building Contractor license will be accepted as a substitute for the minimum qualifications stated above.
