Patient Access Representative

The Patient Access Representative is responsible for coordinating scheduled outpatient services by completing and verifying patient registration information and collecting financial responsibilities. This role provides clerical support, manages patient data entry, and facilitates communication with patients regarding appointments and instructions. Strong customer service skills and experience with high-volume phone calls are essential, with training provided as needed. Responsibilities:

• Facilitate patient admission and discharge processes, including collection of patient and financial information.
• Complete and verify all registration information accurately.
• Provide clerical support such as answering phone calls and responding to patient inquiries.
• Maintain and update patient files and information.
• Schedule and coordinate patient appointments, including radiology when applicable.
• Confirm patient appointments and provide appropriate instructions.
• Enter status changes and other relevant data into computer systems, including EPIC.
• Perform other related duties as assigned within established guidelines.

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Experience with EPIC electronic health record system.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Ability to handle a high volume of phone calls professionally.
• Basic clerical and data entry skills.

• Experience scheduling radiology appointments.
• Prior experience in patient access or healthcare administrative roles.

• Day shift work with a Monday through Friday schedule.
• Willingness to be trained if lacking experience in certain areas.

• Standard day shift, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday, 5 days a week with 8-hour shifts.
